Given that our ceramic hybrid ball bearings are used to repair large industrial motors, the need for our products is often urgent. Most facilities can’t afford for their equipment to be down for long, as it can literally cost a business thousands of dollars for every day their machinery is sitting idle.
While other ceramic bearing manufacturers might charge exorbitant “rush fees,” knowing that their clients will be willing to spend almost anything to get the ball bearings they need immediately, it’s our standard procedure at CBR to get your ceramic bearings to you quickly at reasonable prices. We have many common ceramic ball bearings in stock and ready to ship right away, and the turnaround time for bearings that we don’t stock is extremely quick.
We wanted to share with you a recent experience we had with a customer that accurately illustrates the type of service you can expect to receive when you contact CBR Bearing for ceramic hybrid ball bearings:
We received a call from a new customer, an overhaul facility in Louisiana that services equipment such as pumps and electric motors used in the oil industry. They were looking to switch some of their equipment to ceramic ball bearings from traditional bearings because the steel ball bearings were experiencing early failures due to electrical arcing. They knew that switching to ceramic hybrid ball bearings would help solve this, since the silicon nitride ceramic ball bearings used in ceramic bearings is non-conductive.
The customer needed four different sizes of ceramic hybrid ball bearings to repair some machinery. Their facility was losing thousands of dollars a day due to their machinery being down, and they needed new ceramic bearings as soon as possible.
They were pleasantly surprised to learn that we had three of the four sizes of ceramic hybrid ball bearings they needed in stock, ready to ship out that day. The fourth size they needed, a specialty bearing made by MRC specifically for centrifugal pumps, was not currently available in ceramic hybrid.
The customer asked if we could take a set of new steel bearings they had in stock and replace the balls with ceramic. We told him it was possible, but that we would have to take a look at them first. The steel bearings were overnighted to us, and when we received them the next day, we quickly determined that we had everything in our bearing lab to rework them to ceramic. We gave the customer a quote, which he agreed to, saying the cost was much less than he expected.
In a matter of hours, we had the bearings disassembled, measured, and the races polished to a mirror finish. We meticulously reassembled the bearings using top-of-the-line American-made silicon nitride balls, while exactly maintaining the bearings’ original internal clearances.
We shipped the newly completed ceramic hybrid ball bearings out the very next day, and the customer was thrilled with both the finished products and the speed in which they were completed. He said that the ceramic bearings are performing flawlessly!
Since their initial order, this customer has called us two more times when they needed ceramic hybrid ball bearings. In each case, the turnaround time was just two days.
